Turntables – up to $2000
We just talked about the thing you play on it – vinatge vinyl records, but a turntable can also make you a lot of money. It isn’t as much as a special edition of a Beatles vinyl record, but it can still fetch you a lot of money. Especially if it’s collecting dust in the attic. Collectors of special vinyl records also need a way to play the music. They can buy a new one, but those are never as good as how they made them ‘back in the day’, so believe me when I say that those collectors are very anxious to buy your old turntable. Also stereo receivers are getting more popular, so go check sites, like eBay, to compare what you might get for them.
Depression Glass – up to $75 a piece
The name of the dinnerware might make you think otherwise, but you can be awed by “depression glass” – which is also known as “American Sweetheart. The dinnerware is very special, but there are some colors and engravings and/or patterns that make more money, because of its popularity, than the others. The most valuable one are the depression glasses that are ruby red or cobalt blue – with the American Sweetheart pattern. Those versions can get you up to $75 a piece. The whole set – which is a eight-piece tea set – can be sold for approximately $450.
Books – up to $8000+
We already talked about Harry Potter books, but those aren’t the only ones that can fetch you a lot of money. In case you really are a bookworm and love to collect old and dusty books: chances are that they’re worth up to $8000. You might not believe me, but books are the biggest antique goldmines. Other bookworms that happen to be collectors are willing to pay a lot of money for first edition copies of certien titles. Books that are worth are mostly first edition of very well known english literature like Pride & Prejudice by Jane Austen, The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald and Ulysses by James Joyce. Why is that you might ask? Only a few (like a thousand copies) were made of the first edition, which makes this printing very special because these titles are still immensely popular 50+ years later.
